The Taste of Playa International Food Festival has two ticketing options available to suit the needs of attendees.

“Taste of Playa Pesos”, individual sampling tokens, may be purchased in advance online or at the event itself for $1.00 usd each. All of the signature dishes and beverages offered will cost between 1 and 2 “Taste of Playa Pesos”. Guests are welcome to purchase as many or as few as they wish. For a complete festival experience, we recommend a purchase of at least 10 “Taste of Playa Pesos”.

VIP Passes are also available for purchase online, in advance of the event, for $35.00 usd and include *1 color coded VIP Pass, 1 color coded wrist band and 25 "Taste of Playa Pesos". VIPs enjoy early admittance to the event and access to the tented VIP seating area. Only 120 VIP Access Packages will be made available for sale.  Go to the Taste of Playa Store to purchase

*VIP Access Passes are non-transferrable. The "Taste of Playa Pesos" included in this package are color-coded and can only be used with the accompanying, color-coded wristband and laminated VIP Pass.

1.  Can I purchase VIP passes the day of the event?

VIP passes are only sold in advance of the event online at our Taste of Playa store.  This is due to the limited availability of this type of pass for the event day.  If VIP passes are sold out, everyone can purchase their Taste of Playa pesos at a discount online before October 31, 2010.  After this date there will be Playa pesos sold at the event to attendees in limited amounts.

2.  After I order my VIP passes how will I get my passes?

All VIP passes can be picked up at Hotel Tropical CasaBlanca located on 1st \ave. North between 10th and 12th Street between and including the dates of November 14th to November 20th 2010 between the hours of 8 am to 9 pm.  The passes will be under the name of the purchaser and under the individual pass holder names.  The passes can only be picked up by the pass purchaser or pass holder.  Passes can not be obtained at the door the day of the event.

3.  What is the difference between a VIP Pass and Taste of Playa Pesos.

VIP pass holders will have a special area at the event which will have a special guest restaurant serving food, lounge area and all VIP pass holders will have one hour of sampling time before the general public enters the event.  All VIP pass holders will have a seperate entrance to the event located at 5th and 1 Ave South, and is the only entrance for all VIP pass holders.  There is general access to the event through the VIP area, but all VIP passholders will need to enter through the 5th Ave entrance.  VIP passholders will be given 25 VIP Taste of Playa pesos for their samples and are able to purchase more Taste of Playa Pesos if they wish to have more samples.

4.  What if decide to travel to Playa del Carmen at the last minute?

You can purchase your Taste of Playa Pesos at the event but they are limited.  IF you purchase your Taste of Playa pesos in advance in hopes you will be but will not be able to attend, Taste of Playa pesos are transferable so you can give them to your friends.  Your Taste of Playa pesos that are purchased in advance will be under your name and can be picked up at Hotel Tropical Casablanca on the same dates as the VIP passes, so if you are passing them forward to a friend please send us an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. 5.  Where do I purchase Taste of Playa Pesos at the event?

We have 'sellers' at the event, wonderful volunteers that have donated their time to help us out, throughout the event space.  You can see them easily as they have yellow money bags, hold their tickets up high and wear Taste of Playa baseball caps.  When you purchase, thank them for their time and dedication as they all do a great job!

6.  How many samples can I get with a Taste of Playa Peso?

The restaurants decide how much each sample is and will depend on their sample.  The minimum is one (1) Taste of Playa peso and the maximum is two (2) Taste of Playa pesos per sample.  This is given directly to the restaurant in their booth.

7.  What if I don't use all my Taste of Playa Pesos?

Taste of Playa pesos are non-refundable.  VIP Passes and their pesos are non transferable.
